This is achieved by our skilled and certified stylist by utilizing a sterile microblade, which is used to epidermal or outer layer of the skin to a depth of between 0.05 – 0.09. This then allow pigment to enter the skin, and mimic the look of a natural brow hair. A pre – draw or brow mapping is done initially to create a shape for the client. Once we agree on the desired brow shape, we will then pick a pigment out that best matches the client hair. Following color choice, the client will sit with numbing cream on for approximately 30 minutes before beginning the actual procedure.
The initial service take between 2 – 2.5 Hours. After the inital service, clients are encourage to return at 6 week for a retouch. This is because, depending on the clients skin type and after care some area may fade 10 – 20%. A touch up appointment will take between 1 – 1.5 hours. After the recommend retouch appointment, the microblading pigment will fade over the course of 18 months.
The pain level for the service is considered mild to none. Prior to the service, we will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied a second numbing gel during the service. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the service has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
The healing phase is about a 4 week process. The first week, brows will get slightly darker. This does not mean this will be your permanent color. The second week the microblading area will begin to form a scab where the strokes where done; because your skin was open it has to heal like a cut would. The third week, those scabs will then start to shed or flake off the brows. When this happens it will appear the pigment has completely faded or did not hold. This is not not true. The pigment inserted into your skin cell must go through a whole cell turn over before it reappears on the surface. By the end of week four the pigment should have fully returned and the clients brow will be completely healed with a soft, full natural brow look!
Don’t worry, your secret is safe with us! If you plan on getting botox around the time, you would like your brows done be advised that their are a few restrictions. You should plan to have it done either 2-3 weeks prior to brow services, or 3-4 weeks after the service. This is because botox is meant to lift the features of your face, after which it will settle over time. We take this precaution because we do not want you new brows settling in a place where you do not want them to.
